DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 214/2024

of 23 September 2024

amending Annex IX (Financial services) to the EEA Agreement [2024/3035]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:
(1) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/856 of 1 December 2023 supplementing Directive 2013/36/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to regulatory technical standards specifying the supervisory shock scenarios, the common modelling and parametric assumptions and what constitutes a large decline  ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(2) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/857 of 1 December 2023 supplementing Directive 2013/36/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to regulatory technical standards specifying a standardised methodology and a simplified standardised methodology to evaluate the risks arising from potential changes in interest rates that affect both the economic value of equity and the net interest income of an institution’s non-trading book activities  ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
(3) Annex IX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following points are inserted after point 14s (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/2581) of Annex IX to the EEA Agreement:

32024 R 0856 : Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/856 of 1 December 2023 supplementing Directive 2013/36/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to regulatory technical standards specifying the supervisory shock scenarios, the common modelling and parametric assumptions and what constitutes a large decline ( OJ L, 2024/856, 24.4.2024 ).

Article 2

The texts of Delegated Regulations (EU) 2024/856 and (EU) 2024/857 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 24 September 2024, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made  ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
